The Abacomps program is designed to help children
ages 5 & up advance their skills in mathematics,
general memorization and retention through software
programs and Abacus mathematics to bridge the gap
between the fundamentals of math to the more
advanced method of mental mathematics/calculations.

The Abacomps program is designed around the ultimate
goal of having a child feel comfortable and
confident in their mathematic abilities. Children
start to experience discomfort and even disdain for
math through discouraging remarks from fellow kids
and even adults which leads to a long lasting
dislike for any kind of mathematics. What Abacomps
wishes to achieve is aid and development for those
who feel their math abilities are under par with
their classmates. Abacomps can help children with
low confidence with the goal to raise their
confidence in math and no longer be intimidated but
eager to progress and showcase their strengths.
Our in-center computer lab gives us the ability to
further develop your child’s skills by our Abacomps
program as students come in 2-3 days a week, or
more, for in-center learning along with enrichment
through homework, Learning Center games, testing and
encouragement. Your child can recall long series of
numbers or complex equations in their head as they
begin to find the answer because of memory
retention. Memory retention betters with every class
as your child gains achievement stickers and you can
see your child grow and better their math abilities
by our Abacomps method.
Mathematics is an important skill that one will be
using from early childhood up to adulthood due to
how necessary it is in the real world. The earliest
that it is possible to begin the foundation of math
would be best as children are very impressionable
and new information that they gain through
repetition and hands-on learning will stick and
better as they grow. Abacomps is structured around
using more than just sight to perform calculations
but with hearing and touch. The combination of these
senses allow children a more involved method of
problem solving as they manipulate abacus beads to
solve and “feel” the solution. They “hear” the beads
clicking together uncovering the answer as they
finally “see” the result that they have produced
through a more active approach that used 3 of their
5 senses resulting in a direct approach to math.
Abacomps wishes to teach children that mathematics
can be fun through the appeal of being more hands-on
and having it be done literally by their own hands.
Abacomps differs from other means of aid in that
Abacomps strives to understand mathematics through
its roots, its very foundation of what makes the
building blocks of math i.e. addition. By
understanding mathematics from beneath, there is a
better digestion of the concepts and logic used in
mathematics and why they are as such. An in-depth
comprehension of the base foundation of math makes
problem solving and number interpretation less
problematic and daunting due to an expanded view of
how math works and how to make it work for one’s
self.
